What I believe in
I strife for honesty and sensibility in my reviews. With a healthy mix of sincerity and fun I wish to give readers a way to find books that they will enjoy most as well as new favorite authors. If you work in the publishing industry or want your own book reviewed by me you can expect a professionial work relationship and a perfect way to get your work rooted into the readership.
My rating system
I like to use the CAWPILE rating system brought to us by Jade from the ‚Book Roast‘ Youtube channel. It is a system to give a more nuanced rating (10 points) in the categories: Characters(C), Atmosphere(A), Writing(W), Plot(P), Intrigue(I), Logic(L) and Enjoyment(E). Short: CAWPILE. Those seven ratings will then be added and translated to the popular 5-Star rating system of the book rating community.
I personally like the way this gives every book a chance to shine in it’s own way. If it did not convince me in one category, it can still gain a lot of points through other six.
10/10 | One of my favourites ever |
9/10 | Excellent. Maybe one little problem holding it back, but that’s it. |
8/10 | Great. A couple of problems, but nothing major. |
7/10 | Good. Nothing groundbreaking, and it certainly has issues, but I enjoy it. |
6/10 | Ok. Lots of good things and a fair amount of bad things, but the former prevails. |
5/10 | Mediocre. Basically, for every good thing, there’s something bad. |
4/10 | Poor. A lot of good things, but the bad outweighs the good. |
3/10 | Bad. A few good things but overall not enjoyable. |
2/10 | Horrible. Maybe one potentially good thing but not enough to redeem |
1/10 | Abysmal. Shouldn’t have been published. Needs serious work. |
